“Mike Green is a man of many, sometimes hidden, talents. Sure, he's a well-known and respected talent agent, but he's also a wicked gardener. A gourmet cook. A lover of great music. And now, an out-of-the-closet singer/songwriter. What do all these things have in common? They make our lives a little richer, a little more nutritious, more worth living. These are all crafts that require time, patience, and a love for small details. In Mike's first recording, he sets a table as varied as it is satisfying. Pull up a chair and join in the feast.”
John McCutcheon, performing and recording artist

Using only his voice and gorgeous guitar playing, he takes audiences on a wild emotional ride, showing them beauty and humor and everything in between.
Mike performed and toured as a young man, then put his own music on a back burner as he worked as a booking agent for some of the best folk and roots music artists for nearly forty years. All of that experience is now distilled into his current songwriting and performing.
LONGER BIO:
Mike Green’s songwriting reflects his often conflicting but ultimately optimistic viewpoints. His songs careen between tenderness and irony, profundity and slapstick, aching beauty and fierce rock & roll.
The experience of that very long Master Class is now distilled into his current songwriting and performing.
When the music business came to a screeching halt in the great pause of 2020, Mike finally had the time to dig back into his own music. He began songwriting in earnest, and a dozen of his new songs landed on his first recording, Listening For The Bell, released in the summer of 2023. Mike is in the process of recording a second album (due to be released in early 2026) that will include some of the songs Mike has written since then.
Besides doing solo performances, Mike collaborates with other songwriters in concerts that combine songs with conversation and/or interviews about the songwriting process. This experience gives audiences a glimpse behind the curtain to learn about the artist’s creative process.
A Closer Look — Ann Arbor’s Mike Green Explores Self-Awareness and Acceptance on “Blind Spot” Album (Stratton Setlist, April 2026)
Mike Green intentionally wrote a song about blind spots.
The Ann Arbor, Michigan, singer-songwriter wanted to explore that concept while working on new material for what would become his second album, Blind Spot.
“I hardly ever do that,” Green said. “Usually, I play with ideas, and it starts to coalesce into something. But then, I have to really craft it. Sometimes, the song ends up being very different from how I started, so I try to follow the creative muse.”
That creative muse led Green to the song, “Blind Spot,” which acknowledges accepting and loving someone despite their flaws.
